The Beit library is the place where vast collections of academic books are kept. It has a seating capacity of 184 users. The library prides itself of a strong information base of approximately 50 000 volumes of printed material made available to our students to increase their knowledge and understanding on various subjects. Our library plays a great role in the life of our student. Students can burrow books and take them home for further study. The academic magazines and periodicals keep the student aware of the latest development around the world.
The library is also heavily invested in e-learning which enables users to access relevant study material on the internet, thus providing for a personal interface learning process. Students can also take advantage of the available Wi-Fi network within the library. Plans are in place to introduce a learning management system where students can access the UCE eLearning portal, download course material and partake in course activities such as assignments, quiz exercises and learning forums.
We give priority to keeping our library collections up-to-date, with an emphasis on main texts for undergraduates and taught postgraduate courses. All members of college are encouraged to suggest books for purchase, and staff are happy to help locate useful resources in print or digital formats and to provide access and assistance with the use of archives, manuscripts and special collections.
