Accounts Department

Our Accounting departments has the following roles

Payments

Our cash disbursements are handled by the accounts department. The is responsible for paying suppliers for goods and services rendered to the institute and other utilities and taxes. Our Accounting staff receive invoices from suppliers, record them in the accounting system, and carry out necessary procedures to make the payments

Accounts Receivable

The cash flow that comes into the institute is known as cash receipts. Cash receipts are also handled by the accounts department. This process involves receiving and recording cash payments from students and other institutes for services rendered by the institute.

Salaries 

Although the human resources department is often involved in the activities of employees, the accounting department is responsible for ensuring employees are paid timely on a regular schedule. The payroll function either receives and records the hours employees work or reviews what human resources has entered and then processes payroll checks for hourly and salaried employees.

The department is also responsible for completing the payroll taxes that may be associated with paying employees. These taxes may include PAYE, unemployment and workers’ compensation. The proper reporting forms are completed and checks are written for any amounts due to the taxing authorities.

Procurement

Our accounting department has a role to obtain goods and services in response to internal needs. The department approves the best products or services in terms of price after reviewing and analyzing all options. Quality is also an important factor for the accounts department to consider when approving a purchase.

Reporting and Financial Statements – The accounting department is responsible for recording and reporting the cash flows, both in and out of our institute. These can be used for budgeting, forecasting and other decision making processes. In addition, these and other reports are needed for communication to investors, banks and other professionals that play a role in the growth of the institute.
